Resting right after stretching would help your muscles relax and become flexible. You should stretch around 3 times every day but make sure you do this before you go to bed.

You can improve your muscle strength as well; not by going to the gym but through other ways as well. Attending a gym and lifting weights does not always help if your body's blood supply is not efficient. Your blood supply and nerves needs to improve first in order to get more power in your muscles. Particular reflexes should be carried out targeting particular muscles. People often lay down and keep on resting when they get a lower back pain. You need to keep on moving rather then remaining stand still. If the pain is too much while you move then go get yourself checked, otherwise stay in motion and active for most of the time.

Lower back pain cases are increasing everyday and it is important that you get some consultation at least once or twice in every 3 months just to make sure that there is nothing serious going on.
