Church at Present
The ICM Church claims and
cherishes its place in the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church
which is the body of Christ. It rejoices in the inheritence of the
Apostolic Faith and loyally accepts the fundamental principles of the
Historic Creeds - THE NICENE, ATHANASIAN AND THE APOSTOLIC. The ICM
Church is Orthodox in faith, Anglican in tradition, Episcopal in
Governance and Sacramental & Evangelical in Practice.
The ICM Church believes that the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New
Testaments ( King James version )to be the Word of God and to contain
all things necessary for salvation adopts the Book of Common
Prayer-1928 edition and the Telugu translation of the ICM Church -
2004 and acknowledges the 39 articles of Religion of 1801. The Psalms
of David and the Traditional Andhra Christian Hymn Book - 1866 (Dawson
Hymn Book published by Christian Literature Society as adopted by all
Churches of Andhra Pradesh)are adopted for Doxology. The Church allows
MEN for the Holy Ordres. The Ministry will be carried on by the THREE
fold ministry : the Bishop, the Priest and the Deacon under the valid
Apostolic Succession according to the techings of St.Ignatius of
Antioch (c.110 A.D), one of the Apostolic Fathers.
The ICM Church mainly recognizes two Sacraments namely HOLY BAPTISM
and HOLY EUCHARIST ( Lord's Supper )as of divine appointment and
perpetual obligation of which, it is the previlege and the duty of the
members of the Church to avail themselves.
The Rt.Revd.N.V.Amrutha Rao, the old pious man
has faced tremendous poblems in and around the Church, financial
constrains etc.,and hardly could be able to conduct a GENERAL ELECTION
throughout the Diocese duing 2004. By the abundant Grace of God, the
elected Church Committees, Parish Committees, Central Committee and
the Trust Board were formed officially in November, 2004 and
functioning well under the able guidence and leadership of Bishop N.V.
Amrutha Rao.
A young , energetic , eloquent speaker, Social
Worker, writer and a good church administrator, a priest working under
the Catholicate of the East ( Syrian Orthodox Church ), The
Rev.Fr.Dr.N.JOHN SD Raju was requested by the Trust Board to come and
join with the ICM Church to be the second line of leadership.
Fortunately, he has accepted and he was made Suffragan Bishop on 12 th
February 2005 witnessed by thousands of faithful at Eluru.
Now the Church
has two Dioceses namely Diocese of Krishna Godavari and the Episcopal
